Here is a quick little sketch of the unlucky little squirt that gets my hair. The hair piece will come with two options of wear 1. Frizzy and Dry or 2. Coarse and Unruly. Good luck Amigo! I'll take care of my next ten inches of hair much better for the next donation. I promise!Tuesday, May 27, 2008
Sharing (hair) is Caring
Memorial Day is over and we're back to work, Sad News. It's been a while since I've posted but there is good reason! Over the past two weeks plenty has been happening and many things have been accomplished. We are completely moved out of the Oakland apartment and into the Berkeley apartment. Huzzah! I finished all my finals and I'm finally enjoying a short stint of a break. And most importantly I've finally gotten that hair cut I've been contemplating for such a long time. Sure some may not think a haircut is so important but this one came with many firsts. For a very long time I've been holding off my hair cut because I've wanted to donate my hair to Locks of Love. But each and every time I've gone into to get a trim or a possible haircut my hair has been shy of the cut off length of 10 inches. Not this time! Some unfortunate child WILL receive my hair donation! Instead of feeling good about myself as I do, I should probably feel guilty for giving a disadvantaged child, a rat's nest of a hair piece.

Pop Quiz
Aye Dios Mios! Heres a Monday afternoon quiz for everyone.
This disaster of a living space is caused by:
Choice A) the aftermath of a break in (we are in Oakland)
Choice B) Matt, Amardeep, Josh Heth & Ethan paying us a visit
Choice C) moving from a 1300 Sq ft. space to a 500 Sq ft. space
Now that I've written out the choices I realize it really could be any of the above, and I don't know the actual answer myself. This my friends is what our home in Oakland currently looks like. Its like a really poorly constructed EYE Spy game. I spy with my little eye, Nick's dirty laundry!
Tell me if you guys see Mimi in this photo, she might be buried under some Goodwill giveaways. In fact we haven't really seen her since we've started packing. Oh well I'm sure she'll come around.

Disney Magic to the Rescue!

Greetings my little meanypizzles! We're back from Disneyland and I'm stocked with a fresh batch of ideas for my upcoming art pieces. Just when I thought my imagination was fizzling out we go on a trip to the good ol' magic kingdom to recharge my creative batteries. Disneyland was fun, however I don't recommend going on a weekend or during a Los Angeles heat wave. Ugh, sweaty and waiting in lines while getting your feet ran over by strollers just isn't that appealing. Last time I checked in I was working on befriending my imagination, and BOY, DID I!!!. For an assignment in class I put together and Academy of Art School of Animation poster and my campaign slogan was of course
"Befriend your Imagination!" Heres the final product. I only gave you a shoddy ol' photo of the image in the middle and somewhat cut off my slogan and the school graphics. There is no free advertising for the Academy here! This here poster measures 20" x 30" and I have to say it is one of the larger pieces I've done lately. I used color pencil, watercolor and a black ink pen for it. My favorite monster is the little, chubby brown fella with the horns. He reminds me of a pinto bean, and I'm pretty sure we'd be friends in real life if he was in one of my classes. In MY real life, we moved this weekend. Its amazing how much crap I've accumulated in the past year! Some random things I've found in my closet: 1 large shoe box of vegetable/fruit shaped Christmas ornaments, a Leprechaun shaped button, a Mimi chewed lamp that I convinced myself I could fix. Oh I know you are all super excited for me to have an estate sale now that I've enticed you with some goods.
